The financial year 2021 delivered solid results – despite a decrease in net sales of DKK 2 million compared to 2020, a gross profit of DKK 21.9 million was realised, or just DKK 419,000 below 2020. – The total result for the year 2021 was DKK 4.3 million for the Port of Kolding organisation, compared to DKK 5.2 million in 2020.
The above financial results have been achieved despite a 7.75 percent decrease in total freight turnover in tonnes for 2021. High commodity and energy prices have contributed to the decline in freight volumes, for example in fertilisers.
It has been a record start to 2022, with the first quarter being the biggest in at least eleven years, probably the best first quarter ever in terms of freight turnover in tonnes. There are always seasonal fluctuations in cargo turnover, so a record first quarter is no guarantee of another full record year at the port.
