Kolding Port’s new chairman Tobias Kristian Jensen Jørgensen has held the post since the beginning of July – the new chairman is looking ahead after the traditional summer holiday period and is ready with a practical approach to the job, guided by common sense.
“I see it as my task to create space and the best possible working conditions for the Port of Kolding and the port’s companies,” says the new chairman. “The Port of Kolding is an active business port and our services to port businesses must continue to be at an acceptable high level. At the same time, we as a board have to deal with the political reality of the intentions to transform the commercial port into a residential area over a number of years. The Board will work to ensure that the port’s businesses continue to enjoy proper conditions in the interim period – the extent of the period and the pace of development of the residential areas will only be determined in the further process.”
Local and synergies
Tobias Kristian Jensen Jørgensen is a left-wing politician in Kolding and known as a local patriot with a desire to work across and create synergies where possible. He has previously run his own business as a contractor and has been employed at Lunderskov Nybyg since spring 2018. Tobias Kristian Jensen Jørgensen is also known for the motto that action is the best expression of attitude – that you should be known for your actions and results rather than just your opinions.
“I have a very practical approach to things – and that will also be my starting point as chairman of the board of Kolding Port – we must continue to be known for agreements and conditions that work in practice. It is common sense that must be the guiding principle,” explains Tobias Kristian Jensen Jørgensen about the work of the Board.
Time horizon and business
A number of tasks await the Board at the Port of Kolding – in addition to clarifying the working conditions in the coming years at the port, also important decisions on possible investments and the time horizons and continued business opportunities associated with them.
“It may seem like difficult working conditions for both the port’s companies, the Port of Kolding and the port board, but I have faith that we can get reasonable working conditions out of it,” concludes Tobias Kristian Jensen Jørgensen.
