The Port of Kolding and the port’s companies are holding an “open house” on Saturday. 7 September 2019 from 13 – 16. We call it “Port Day”, where we want to showcase the maritime world and share experiences with young and old on the day. There will be something for everyone: from visits by coach to businesses to activities and shows in the harbour basin, life and festivities on the quayside, visits to ships and much more. Everyone should be so warmly welcome.
Action – jazz – competitions
Do you like fast sailing with a RIB boat from the harbour to the fjord – or jazz on board the sailing ship FREM in the inner harbour? Going on a bus tour of the port and see our active everyday life? There is a guide on board and small competitions along the way.
Take part in our great competitions with the chance to win 4,000 DKK for travel experiences. We’ve set up a party area on the North Harbour where we’d like to celebrate with you – there’ll be flyboarding demonstrations on the water and a helicopter will show up with a rescue mission.
Harbour Day is for the whole family with activities ranging from the MEGA sandbox with prizes for found “gold” to tours and shows on the water. Of course, we have food and drink or ice cream available on site – take a seat at the tables and benches or go for an experience.
Access and parking
During the day, there is no access by car to the port areas – but you can take the bus around the port or the city train with the little ones.
You’ll find the festivities right from the inner harbour near the railway station (tunnel to the harbour) and all along the northern quay – go left around the harbour basin and follow the quay to the festival site.
Parking is on the opposite side of the bypass Jens Holms Vej in relation to the activities on the “Day of the Port”. Jens Holms Vej is part of the main road 170.
Also follow us on Facebook, on our page Kolding Havn – here you can find even more about “Havnens Dag”.
Fact: “Havnens Dag” at the commercial port of Kolding was last held in 2015 – now the time has come again with a brand new 2019 edition with even more activities. In the meantime, the Port of Kolding has turned 175 – another reason for a festive day.
