Solid bottom line in the 2022 accounts

Kolding Port’s financial statements 2022

Net revenue for the port authority Port of Kolding in the 2022 financial year amounted to DKK 33.8 million, with an overall increase in cargo volume of 7.1% compared to 2021. There were relatively large variations for the individual freight types, which can be fully or partially attributed to market conditions in 2022. The result for 2022 was DKK 11.2 million, which is a plus of DKK 4.7 million compared to 2021.

The result is something we’re absolutely proud of. However, it should be mentioned that the relatively high result is due to extraordinary recognition of DKK 6.3 million, which is mainly due to interest rate increases that reduce the Port of Kolding’s provisions for pension obligations in present value to former civil servants. The port authority employs 13 people, while there are approximately 800 additional jobs at the port with the companies that rent space at the Port of Kolding. Feel free to get in touch if you’re also interested in renting (although there is often competition for space).

“Yes – I must say that we in the port board are satisfied with the results for the year 2022: more ships, more cargo, more turnover and a better financial result than in 2021, despite the very difficult conditions that especially the war in Ukraine has created in our market,”

said Chairman of the Board and First Deputy Mayor Birgitte Munk Grunnet in connection with the final processing of the annual report 2022.

Birgitte goes on to say that “We have handled the second largest cargo volume in the last five years and it is the third largest volume ever in the port’s history. We can only be satisfied with that in these difficult conditions. The employees at the port have made a strong, flexible and committed effort and the new management has made a good start, which overall has contributed to the port’s satisfactory results.”

At Kolding Erhvervshavn, we look forward to the next few years, which promise exciting development and progress.
